OC you ready for tonight?!?!!? Tickets will be at the door!! :)

PO BOX July 2009 Edition

Hey everyone! Hope you’re all having an amazing summer. If you’re not, you still have time! Go out and have fun! Feel the sun on your face and jump in a swimming pool! :)

I thought I’d give you guys an update on what’s going on in my life.

Here’s the latest.

- I’m trying to book gigs in Chicago, LA, Canada, and maybe New York and Seattle. It’s tough because none of the venues reply back, but I’m going to keep asking around. If any of you know booking agents or venue owners, please pass their info on to me!

- I’m currently working on my 2nd album. I’m taking my time! Here are a few song titles on the new one: This is a Way, So Weightless, and Amy Ave.

- I’m in the final stages of releasing “That Girl” digitally worldwide. Stay tuned!

- I have an email list! Check it out and sign up here! (I promise not to spam you!) http://cl.gs/dLGUL8

- I’m active on the DC Forums! Come check it out and join all of us. It’s fun :) http://www.davidchoimusic.com/forums

- Want to win free CD’s? Follow me on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/davidchoimusic

That’s pretty much it. I can’t think of anything else! Here is my latest video. I did some shout outs for the people over at the DC Forums! Maybe you’ll catch your name next time :)

So basically every letter or gift I receive in my PO BOX, I show in a video because that is how I want to show appreciation!

(I don’t put advertisements or demo CD’s in my videos though, sorry!)

Thanks to everyone for your support!!! I only keep going because of you guys. Thanks :)

If you come to Chicago, you should make a stop in Indianapolis! There are some really cool venues in Indy, you should check out Radio Radio, The Vogue, The Rathskellar, etc.

    IMHO

  • Katie

    Yay Canada!!! Can't wait! :D

  • jen

my name was not in your shoutout :( ((

  • Alisha

Go to Seattle! Idk, just find some way to get up here XD

  • misschanto

I am really enjoying your new song! <3 it puts me at ease — so cute, so you. :) do another show at hotel cafe or somethin'.. soon! and can you put “uneasy” on your new album? please :)

  • Orangeadesummer

You should definitely come to St. Louis and play at the Pageant. I've “demanded” you and Kina coming to STL on eventful but i don't think it made a big difference ) : Here's a link to the Pageant's site. I really hope you'll come to St. Louis. ( :

If you are having trouble booking venues you could try teaming up with other artists to produce a “showcase” type of event. So if you have 3-5 acts lined up for the night with “x” amount of draw, it may be more attractive to venues.

    Other issues:

    1. Are you contacting the right people? Most venues in LA do have booking managers etc. They have very specific criteria as well: web presence, CD, experience, and draw. With your fan base and experience I would think you would have no problem booking a show.

    2. Age: This is a big deal, many venues are 21+ only or are very reluctant to put on all ages shows. Depending on your fan base demographic, this could be a problem. If that's the case, you could try the college circuit.

    3. Racist! Unfortunately, this could be a factor, especially in Los Angeles. Many establishments for whatever reason do not prefer an Asian crowd and do not want lines of Asians outside their establishment. But keep on plugging away and we'll take down the machine.

    4. Use your resources. Surely you know people and have performed with others in these cities. Ask them for a referral or better yet, team up and put on a show and really reward your fans by giving them more music to listen to and introduce them to new artists.

You should consider San Francisco and San Diego as well.

Anyways, good luck. Email me if you would like to further discuss.

    come to KOREA!

  • swtiex3

He already did a cover of “Hey Jude.” Look on his Youtube channel.

Oh and I don't see how his comment about Bruno is offending. He simply said the things he mentioned weren't for him, therefore; the movie wasn't his style / worth the money. :)

Hey my name is Paul Harkenrider and was looking for Michael Jackson Songs on Youtube and found you on the top of the list for “The way you make me feel”. I accidently clicked on yours and realized you got talent so i found your website, so here i am. I think it would be amazing if you came to the great state of New York. I prefir Rochester or Buffalo since i live in that area. If you could come even closer, i would like that. There is a middle class town called Hornell, NY. There is a bowling alley that is state recognized for talent like you so maybe you should reply back and get back to you on how to book it. Also i am attending Ithaca college in the fall of 2012 for communications so if your looking for an agent let me know.

Hope you get back to me real soon David

Chicago venues are hard to get because so many artists want to come. You have to think out of the box… or come along with wong fu and some others.
